Excellent tequila that exalts over others
Hijo Predilecto Tequila “Ultra Aged”, EXCELLENT TEQUILA!
Hijo Predilecto Ultra Aged “Extra Anejo” Tequila is not a common brand in the US but can be found in limited locations in Mexico. This EXCELLENT TEQUILA is priced at approximately $550, in our opinion it’s worth every drop.
Hijo Predilecto Tequila is proudly produced at the distillery Puerta de Hierro (NOM 1477) located in the town of El Arenal, Jalisco. The name of the distillery translates to “Iron Gate”.
Hijo Predilecto comes in a very nice etched porcelain bottle that is numbered as production was limited to 1000. We were fortunate enough to acquire bottle number 0076 of 1000.
The tequila is brilliant amber in color with exquisite copper tones. The body is just perfect, rich and creamy. The sweet and fruity aroma is complex but delicious and gentle to the nose. With appetizing hints of molasses, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, oak, raisins, prunes, dried figs and grapes. The taste and finish is well balanced, long lasting and as piquant as the aromas. This is truly one of the rare Tequila’s in which the aroma matches the taste. This is an Excellent Tequila.

With an industry that is becoming inundated with mediocre tequila, we are pleasantly delighted when we encounter a product that not only meets the definition of a great tequila but exceeds it to exalt itself over the marketing noise of its competitors.
